Cappuccino Mousse with Banana

Guilty as charged, I am one of those people who love to cut interesting recipes from magazines, newspapers, you name it! This is a lovely recipe from the Sunday Times (Style) on 22/01/12.

Knew I was going to make this when I set my eyes on the picture. Coffee and banana mousse served in a coffee cup, definitely a dessert to impress.

Recipe by Aldo Zilli (serves 4)

397g can sweetened condensed milk

40g butter

2 teaspoons espresso coffee

30g cocoa powder, plus extra for sprinkling

2 bananas, peeled and sliced

450ml double cream (MMMM!)

Combine the condensed milk, butter and coffee in a saucepan and stir over a low heat for a minute. Stir in the cocoa and cook until the butter has melted and the mixture is smooth.

Remove from the heat and stir in the banana slices. Allow to cool.

In a bowl, whip the cream to soft peaks and then fold in the espresso powder. Spoon into your serving bowls/ cups and refrigerate until set.

Dust with cocoa powder just before serving.

Tastes as divine as it looks and sound. Love fuss free desserts like this! Served in a coffee cup or a little martini glass, they will definitely wow your family or guests.

    Looks very yummy! I also cut recipes from magazine, I’ve got 2 entire scrapbooks worth of them which I always refer back to!
