Of little kicks and my blossoming bump :)

Hello world! Thought I might document some pregnancy tales and pictures as it must be rather nice to read at a later point. I was one of those crazy women who went on and said ‘I am pregnant’ but I have not actually missed my ‘time of the month’ just yet. The husband is definitely more sensible than I am and insisted we keep it hush hush for a while. Somehow, that did not work very well and we told our families. We were excited. Haha! I did however keep it ‘private’ till the end of my first trimester.

On the 1st of June, I decided to tell the ‘online world’ that I was blessed to be growing a little human. Lots (if not majority) of Baked By Me online friends are mummies and boy, you guys were overjoyed for me 🙂 Appreciate all your love. It was mad, I posted this picture with a teeny bump to share the happy news …image

… and I received abundant love and kind words! 550 likes for that one post alone on Baked By Me’s FB page. Rather overwhelming but so very kind 🙂 Thank you! Facebook and Instagram is such a wonderful platform to ask for opinions like, should I buy this? or that? Lots of mummies took time to write and justify which brand they chose etc.

Going to share some ‘progress’ pictures of my baby bump. I am really enjoying being pregnant other than the fact that I CANNOT fit into lots and lots of clothes even in the early stage of pregnancy. I find myself rummaging through the sales as well as Primark … loads! I cannot justify buying an item of clothing that is more pricey as I get to wear it for like 2 weeks. I have gone from a UK size 4 to a UK size 10 and now a 12! Thankfully, I have been told that I don’t look like a 12 (perhaps they are lying).

I was in the fitting room with my mum and I told her that there is no point picking anything that is smaller than a UK 10. Initially she did not believe me till we both burst into ‘uncontrollable’ laughter as I struggled to put on size 10 jeans AND it was one of those maternity ones. Oh help me (ps. this was still in the first trimester!)

My new favourite hobby : window ‘baby’ shopping. I never knew I could enjoy walking around Mothercare or Kiddicare with such gusto. Haha! I have been really good though and have not bought anything.. big or small.

Sometime in June, I bought my first pregnancy ‘must have’ ! The pregnancy pillow. It was recommended by so many of you on Facebook and Instagram that I succumbed and went out and forced the husband to buy one for me 😀 Might as well start using it earlier to make the most of it since its not a cheap ‘bolster’. It is such a brilliant buy.  Its very comfortable and it ‘coaxes’ me to sleep on my left side. I always sleep on my back but recently my back has been killing me and this bolster is a great reminder that I should sleep on my side. ( Shh initially, the husband wanted to head on out and buy another just because he liked it too)image

I was really keen to find out whether baby is a boy or girl just so I can finally start buying one or two items. Lo and behold, the baby crossed his or her legs during the 20 week scan. How cheeky!

We might not be able to find out anymore unless we opt to go for a scan privately. I have not started buying gender-neutral goodies as preferably I would like to dress the baby in pretty florals and very girlish things or very macho boyish clothes. Forget the whites 😀 Perhaps this is a good thing as I have yet to purchase anything for the baby!

The pram + car seat is giving me a headache as there is just so many brands out there. Lots of different recommendations which is wonderful but I have no clue which one we should invest in. Initially, I was pretty keen on the Quinny but have changed my mind due to the basket size. The Uppababy is just lovely but might be a bit on the ‘large’ side. Oh well, there’s still time to scout around. Ps. still open to suggestions or sponsors (jokes).

Hmmm, baby book. Keen to purchase one just because it must be quite nice to flip through one and compare growth charts etc. I have zero pregnancy books, therefore I am not that crazy.image

Let’s just hope there will be lots of offers and sales when we finally start shopping! Excited to welcome our little bundle of joy in November.
