#MyToddlerReads (2)

Let’s get inspired by each other and cultivate good reading habits with our little ones.

The 2nd edition of #MyToddlerReads or more apt #WhatMyToddlerReads. For those who missed this, I started documenting some of the books my little one reads (3 books every fortnight). The response took me by surprise and it was very lovely to read all of your comments. Inspiring to see the variety of books our little one reads. Thank you for all the comments and joining in with my little hashtag. It’s always nice to see the classics still ever so popular ๐Ÿ™‚ Ps. there’s also lots of Julia Donaldson fans out there. This is great for me as I can keep an eye out for some of your recommendations at the library and the shops.

Thanks Loo for sharing your amazing MogTheCat collection! Its impressive that your little one knows the words, she must be a huge fan. Well done you ๐Ÿ™‚ You must have spent lots of time reading with her too. We bought Mog’s Christmas Calamity after watching the Sainsbury’s Christmas advert countless times.

Check out Azalea’s amazing collection! Thank you Deana for sharing. I have ‘ book envy ‘. It is always heartwarming to hear how much a little one enjoys reading.

Firm favourites this time around –>

  1. The ‘ That’s Not My .. ‘ books. She enjoys them tremendously and flips through them herself. She loves That’s Not My Kitten and That’s Not My Puppy. They are touchy feely books and are sturdy enough to withstand teething babies. Haha! They have lots of them in the library and I managed to capture her reading That’s Not My Hedgehog.

2) Pip & Posy. This one was Pip and Posy : The Scary Monster. She loves it when the monster comes to the door, haha! The story is simple enough for her as a 16 month old and lots of easy phrases like ‘washing her hands’ and ‘knock on the door’. The illustrations are beautiful too, there is lots of extra detail to point out.

3) Dinosaur Roar! Short book with lots of DINOSAURS, she adores this book. Its perfect before bed especially since its such an easy read. Words are kept to a minimum in the book but it teaches comparatives and adjectives like Dinosaur Slow / Dinosaur Fast.

Hope you enjoyed reading about our firm favourites this time around. Please feel free to share yours, we will be thrilled xxx
