Happiest City in the World

On the 16th of May, Monday.. Leicester must have been the happiest city in the world. The streets were absolutely crazy, it was remarkable seeing so many people come out to salute the Foxes. Truly a carnival-like atmosphere! How lucky are we to be in Leicester at this point in time. Personally, am not a big footie person but hey ho .. for an underdog to achieve a big victory like this! Well done Leicester City FC! We sure can party and celebrate their win together with them. I am so glad I managed to bring my little one out to be part of the celebrations, putting aside my initial worries that we might get trampled especially with a bulky pushchair. We went ‘bright and early’ to Victoria Park at 3pm and there were already lots of people. Many families turned up with young children and this definitely put my mind at ease. We enjoyed a little picnic whilst taking in the atmosphere and the performances. We caught the cheerleaders, Bollywood dancers and the DJ. You can feel everyone celebrating. The vibe was just mad. Little one could feel it too and she was waving her flag with great enthusiasm.

3pm, looking around for a cozy spot.

Pitch! Time for a little picnic.

Mummy and daughter duo at Victoria Park

Thank goodness, I managed to grab some warm sugary donuts earlier. The food stations were … heaving with people by the time it was 5pm!

We left to have a bit of a rest and came back out later to catch the victory parade i.e the open top buses with the team! She was very excited to see the aeroplane and helicopters in the sky. We were lucky that it was such a lovely spring day, I could treat her to an ice lolly 🙂

By this time, you cant see an inch of ground anymore .. everywhere was filled with humans. Waves and waves of people kept coming from the city towards Victoria Park. We waited by London Road and did not even attempt to go in the Park. Ps. its reported that 240,000 people turned up for this victory parade.

Champions coming through ..

A very memorable day indeed. Thank you Leicester! A day I won’t forget and lots of pictures to share with bubba when she is older 🙂

Clarks Baby Shoes. Review & Giveaway!

Gosh, how time flies! This was us 6 months ago when we got our little one her very first pair of shoes. It was only natural for us to walk into Clarks because I know they measure their tootsies properly there (length as well as width) and that their shoes come in half sizes as well. At that point in time, it was such a lovely ‘milestone’. (still is) We went in just before she turned one and Clarks made our First Shoes experience very memorable. They even captured the moment, emailed and posted the keepsake photo out to us.

For every

Gorgeous outfit

For every wobbly step

For the journey ahead.

For growing feet in safe hands.

She was very apprehensive about her first pair of shoes but I did tell her that she will grow to LOVE shoes in time and ho and behold its true, she keeps playing with all of her shoes and is very quick to tell us to put them on when she wants to go out. She even tries my shoes!

She outgrew her first pair and we went back to Clarks again for her 2nd pair. It is easy to be loyal to the brand as the quality is great and the range is super fun.

We were thrilled  when we found out that Clarks were going to kindly gift us a pair of shoes of our choice to review. Perfect timing as we found that she has leaped up to a size 4. The most challenging bit was to decide on a style!

It was a really close call between the very trendy and traditional Dabi Leila. They have it in a gorgeous neon yellow too. Its such a classic style, I wished they did it in adult sizes. I would so wear them.

I went with a Coral Patent Little Jam though. Personally, am a huge fan of Mary-Jane style shoes and the meadow flower detailing is adorable. A little someone was well excited when it came in the morning post. We were still in bed and had to try them on immediately 🙂

We have definitely put the shoes to ‘test’ for a few weeks now and they still look brand new. No scuffs! Patent is always a great choice and she seems happy with them. We have been everywhere in her new shoes .. museums, farms, you name it! I went snap-happy as always, do enjoy our little every day moments.

We are definitely creating lots of happy moments in those shoes 😉

Ps. I am delighted to say that Clarks will be giving you a chance to win a pair of children’s shoes for your little ones on my Instagram page on HERE.

For a bonus entry, do leave a comment on here too. Competition ends on the 20th May 11.59pm. Good luck everyone xxx

We were sponsored the pair of Little Jam Shoes by Clarks, however all thoughts and views are my own.

Of Warmer Days and Sunshine

We have been blessed with quite a few days of glorious sunshine, it has been so warm and lovely. It feels like summer came early this year. Oh, how lucky did we get!

This feels like a sneak peek for a great summer ahead with the kiddo. There’s plenty to do when the sun comes out to play. Even lounging about in the garden for 30 minutes feels like a ‘mini holiday’.

It has to be a different selection of toys and books every time to entertain her so that I can drink my cup of tea in peace or hang a load of laundry. Ps. my laundry basket is in a great state at the moment due to the wonderful ‘drying’ weather.

I love it when the kitties get to lounge about with us outdoors too.

Little one’s selection, Sophie’s Lift The Flap book, a little tub of bubbles and her current favourite, a case of Play Doh. They are mini tubs but they are perfect as an introductory set. We don’t actually have to play with the ‘doh’ most of the time, she keeps herself very very very busy by building towers and fitting them back in their case.

Spotted … enjoying a good old fig roll whilst the tabby looks on probably longing for a cheeky nibble.

Ps. I wanted to share that we found SPARKLING Play-Doh.

They definitely did not have any glittery ones when I was young. Haha. It does pay to shop around too as its a fiver in John Lewis.
