No recipe post 🙂 Just felt like whipping up some scones without following a set of guidelines. Rogue baking. Haha!
Not too shabby at all, especially with a warm cup of tea. Have a great day ahead xxx

Insert tea quotes : Haha!
Tea is just too enjoyable for me especially when it’s proper afternoon tea (yes think cakes, chocolates and cookies). The whole works. ‘I like tea’ is clearly an understatement. Nowadays, tea gives me much needed sanity, the strength to endure growth spurts, crankiness and teething. One of my favourite cup of tea is the last one in the evening when bubba is asleep. Bliss!
Yes, I tend to stock up on my favourite English Breakfast, Earl Grey, you name it.
It would be a teeny bit selfish not to share … have you window shopped on Twinnings? Its fab and they have special free delivery till tomorrow and its for all orders over a tenner. It was my first time browsing the Twinnings website and boy oh boy, there were loads to choose from. I was pleasantly surprised to find teaware as well as confectionery on there too! It was too easy building my basket up to £10 and all I wanted to do was stock up on simple lush teabags 🙂
Ps. hurry, offer ends tomorrow x

Tucked away on Bridlesmith Walk, is a little gem of a teahouse. I went on a Saturday afternoon just before they closed and they were packed to the brim. Warm, welcoming and charming especially when it’s wet and windy outside. White Rabbit is done up beautifully. I do have a soft spot for duck egg colours 🙂
My friend had a slice of lime and elderflower cake. He did mention that the cake was a tad dry but JUST look at how its presented.
I picked the best cake. Warm apple cake served with cream!! It was lush. Strong flavour and you cannot fault cream.
Just look at the china! There was much cooing about how their tea and cake is served. Love the mismatched vintage china. Every table had a different set too! All too pretty for words. We didn’t opt for afternoon tea as we were so full from lunch at Delilah’s. The people next to us did and as soon as they left, I whipped out my phone to get a picture of this cake stand! I wanted to take this home badly. Oh dear, just cannot bring me anywhere. I shared this picture on Instagram and Twitter and quite a few people commented that they should have ‘doggy-bagged’ their leftovers. What a shame.
We stayed till closing time in this lovely little place. Oh yes, I wanted to add that White Rabbit will be even better if they served loose leaf tea instead of teabags. They served excellent bagged teas but I personally feel that if one is to enjoy tea in such a pretty shop, loose leaf is the only way to go 🙂
Aaaah, time for another cup of tea. Have a lovely Tuesday everyone.

Last weekend, I stepped into foodie heaven, Delilah’s for the first time and it definitely won’t be the last!
I had a lovely wander around the shop admiring the foodie products they had to offer. Our cookie mixes will be right at home at Delilah’s 😉
Found a place at the bar and ordered CAKE and coffee. Here is one of their lovely staff slicing up my cake (all mine!)
It was AH-MAZING! I never had this combination ever, it was a rose & Turkish Delight cake. Loved the huge chunks of Turkish Delight on the cake.
Cannot wait for my next visit! Different cake this time or perhaps lunch.

Here is another collage of some of our product range in 2013. We cannot wait to share *fingers and toes crossed* an even better range this year!
I made this Raspberry Dutch baby for breakfast a few days ago. It is a very simple and straightforward recipe. It looks fantastic and definitely one of the best ‘pancakes’ I have made 🙂
Recipe for Raspberry Dutch Baby
3 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
pinch of cinnamon
2 tablespoon (20g) butter. melted
1/3 cup raspberries
icing sugar to sprinkle
…..
Oven 220°C . Butter a cake pan or skillet. We used an 8″ cake / sandwich pan.
Beat the eggs in a large bowl with the milk. Sift flour, salt and cinnamon into the egg mixture. Whisk until well combined. Whisk in butter. Pour into the pan and sprinkle your choice of berries. We made ours with raspberries.
Bake for 15 minutes at 220°C. Reduce heat to 160°C and bake for another 10 minutes. Dust with icing sugar 🙂 All done!
This is just fabulous for breakfast or brunch as the batter is not sweet at all. Just ignore and forgive the dollop of cream I added to my Dutch Baby though 🙂
Look at sneaky Momo the cat trying to get a whiff of my Dutch Baby. It is rather challenging to get a picture like this. Thankfully, I was armed with my camera in hand and managed to get this shot rather quickly before she was told off.
Hope you had a lovely first day in the new year 🙂
xx
