“You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth”

One of our highlights from the week would be having some friends over from Nottingham. It was great catching up over food and they were definitely entertained by the chatty toddler. Whenever I get to decide on a place, its always the same old dessert parlour we frequent. Its so good. A little person was ecstatic too as she was treated to her own scoop of sorbet. I did exercise some form of ‘sugar control’ and she had less than half, phew.

Squinty face filled with lots of excitement and joy. I cannot help but chuckle when I ‘revisit’ the picture.

Just look at my waffles! Moreish, drizzled with generous helpings of white chocolate , raspberries and cream .. and a scoop of white choc and raspberry ice cream. Oh yes, its Heavenly Desserts on London Road, Leicester.

and a mandatory mummy-daughter picture.

Little one was never a soft toy person but recently she absolutely adores them especially since we have started playing ‘afternoon tea parties’. She particularly enjoys feeding them and tucking them in to bed.

We went for a mummy and baby group Easter event and we won a huge duck in the raffle and oh boy, she has been in love with it every since. Dragging it everywhere and into her cot.

She moves at the speed of light nowadays and its trying to get her to ‘pose’ for pictures. I took these last week and I LOVE them. She is so cheeky.

Both dressed up in dresses.

On a sidenote, I love this ‘link up’ with other mummy bloggers as it really encourages me to keep this blog active. Hope you enjoy reading and I really do appreciate comments 🙂

Have a good week.

Living Arrows

Living Arrows 14/52

This is our first time joining in the fun with Week 14. I was blog hopping and came across a lovely blog, What The Redhead Said and started browsing through her posts. Came across Living Arrows and this project piqued my interest immediately. A theme celebrating Childhood, why ever not eh? This definitely resonates with what I share on here as a very hands on mummy who enjoys the extraordinary as well as the ordinary moments.

Living Arrows

I loved the quote which this project takes its name from,

You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth” by Kahlil Gibran.

Playground Joy
Week 14 : We usually do quite a lot and this week was extra special in terms of ‘activities’ as we took her to watch a live show at the theater but for our first Living Arrows, I wanted to share something ordinary. Sometimes, enjoying the ordinary is extraordinary and I think these pictures captured at the playground with my mobile truly tells a story on its own.
At 16 months, she is so wild and free. Fearless, curious and filled with so much joy especially when it comes to slides (not the swings). She climbed the frames very slowly as she took in the ‘atmosphere’. The playground gets so busy as the kids are off on holiday and it was a lovely spring day. She is the type to get very distracted by other children. When she finally arrives at the top of the slide, she sits and stays put for quite a few minutes .. I had to keep repeating ‘ Ready, Steady .. Go!’ countless times. There was one occasion which is really quite funny on reflection. A 19 month old boy got impatient and just pushed her down the slides. His mum was rather horrified.
Looking Up
This joy was not ‘carried forward’ to the swings, unfortunately. I always thought that every child would love the swings but this is not the case for her. Panic written all over her wee face whilst telling me, no no no. Oh well, we will try again soon 😉

Have a good week xxx
