Jimmy’s Killer Prawns

We love eating out. We love eating. Fullstop. Our family eating adventures aka ‘restaurant hopping’ is still going strong although nowadays I never write about it anymore as life takes over and takeaway is too convenient when you have to juggle 2 kiddies BUT …

There’s a new kid in town that spurred me to write a post to share just how much our family enjoyed our meal there. They claim that their food is addictive and oh boy it truly was. I am a huge fan of their killer prawns. We went there over the weekend and we even ‘Deliveroo-ed’ them the following day. Eeks ( not very kind to the wallet ). It just goes to show how addictive it was.

There’s something for everyone and if you are not a fan of seafood, there’s always the chicken or meat option. Be warned though, their portions are ENORMOUS. The prices are slightly steep but when you share your meal, it works out to be pretty good value for what you get.

We went for a combo as the other half wanted to have a bit of steak too. It was all about the prawns for me! Ours was served with rice, fries and their trio of sauces. The garlic butter was divine.

The Prawns are served whole in their shells and with their heads intact. The marinade on them was lovely. Its messy but the best way to enjoy them is to suck on the outer shell as its just so juicy. Gosh, I cannot believe I just wrote that. The grilled prawns were on point and I would come back again and again for them.

IMG_3666.JPGKids meal. Our child adores prawns and she could have shared ours but we went for the spicy grilled prawns instead of the orignal flavour. Turns out, she loved it .. the spicy one. We did order her a kiddy meal though. Fried prawns with fries. She enjoys her food and its always a pleasure to watch her try a variety of food.

We also ordered a starter to share and the waitress recommended we try the Red Prawn soup. One of the best I’ve tasted in a while, thick, rich, spicy and plenty of prawns in there.

Not ready for food, oh little child but we bring you everywhere with us too.

Definitely worth a visit. Let me know what you think!

Family dining at Leicester’s Boo Burger.

I am going to share with you our experience dining at Boo Burgers on London Road. I have a huge soft spot for family-run eateries and this restaurant definitely did not disappoint.

When you step in, you will be totally amazed at the clear branding and bright interiors. I was impressed. Its all in the little details and oh boy, I sure loved Boo’s finer details. Things like the wordings on the cups, the font of the menu and even their refillable drink machine. I kept wanting to shout out at my husband, Hey Boo! I kid you not.

We dine with our toddler everywhere and this establishment is ultra kid friendly with their bright red high chairs and their special Boo.Kids menu. No stress and we get to enjoy our food in peace. She was definitely a happy Boo.Kid. Burger + fries + drink for £5! What a deal for the little ones and great job to the team for the comfortable and relaxed environment too.

Let’s get to the MOST important and crucial part when dining out (or in) .. the taste and the quality of the food. I will let the pictures speak for themselves BUT will you just LOOK at that shiny cheese. Their cheesy fries takes the cake for me. It was so good, I LOVED it. Reasonably priced at £3 too. We also tried their Sticky as well as Buffalo Wings. The wings were on point, I preferred the Sticky and the husband enjoyed the Buffalo ones.

I went all out and stuffed my face. Cheesy fries, wings, milkshake and of course one needs to try their burger. The place is called Boo Burger.

I could not decide whether to have a beef or the chicken burger. Oh decisions decisions. Haha! I was thrilled with my Chick-A-Boo when I sunk my teeth into it. In all honesty, I knew my other half is going to order the classic beef one. Trust me to ‘test’ it too.

The Chick-A-Boo’s deep fried chicken breast fillet was crunchy and oh so tasty. The sauce complemented the crispy fillet and the bun very well. (Shhh, it might have been better than a KFC Zinger burger and that is one of my all time guilty pleasures).

My other half tried Boo Burger’s Haystack served with onion strings! Just take a peek at that mouth watering burger. Whoops, I hope you were not too hungry. The thinner onion ‘strings’ were lush and a lovely addition to the burger.

Not only does the burgers get a huge thumbs up from the adults, the child loved it too. Funny enough, when I was pregnant with her .. all I wanted to eat was burgers.

If you have a tenner, scoot along and try Boo Burger. Their high quality food really do speak for themselves and you get lovely service as well. Ps. why not eh? You will get to feast on a burger + fries + drink all for less than a tenner!
